Jessica’s Vision for Chicago’s Schools
Jessica believes that the quality of your local schools should not be determined by your zip code. She believes every child has a right to an excellent education.
Jessica believes that schools should be places where young people feel included and embraced, where learning starts with student agency and offers real-world application, and occurs in 21st century learning environments.
Jessica believes that strong communities have strong neighborhood schools.
Jessica believes we should work together to make sure our schools are fully funded–and that the district's budget challenges are addressed in an inclusive and equitable manner. Jessica takes her fiduciary duty seriously and believes that the district's finances need to be managed to ensure the long term sustainability of our public education system.
